Dosa with Mango Chutney and Aloo Bhaaji


Dosa is very famous south Indian Dish.There are many types of Dosas. I am sharing the recipe of Plain Dosa.
Also Dosa needs good side dish which enhances the taste of dosa. I prepared Mango Chutney and Aloo Bhaaji as a side dish and sharing the recipes.
The Same Aloo Bhaaji can be placed in Dosa while preparing it and that is nothing But Masala Dosa.







  • Rice  2 cup
  • Urad Dal 1 cup
  • Fenugreek seeds 1tsp
  • Salt
  • Sugar 1tsp
  • Toor Daal 1tsp
  • Thin Poha/flattened rice 2tsp


  • Soak Rice and Urad daal separately for 2-3 Hours along with fenugreek seeds and Toor daal.
  • Grind Rice and Urad daal separately into fine paste and mix well.
  • Grind the Thin poha and add it to the batter and mix.
  • Keep this mixture in warm environment for at least 8-10 Hours.
  • After 10 hrs add salt and Sugar and mix it well.
  • Take a non stick frying pan and heat it well.
  • Once it heats reduce the flame and put 1 small cup batter on pan and spread it.
  • Put 1tsp ghee on it and close it with lid. And increase the flame.
  • Once it turns brown take it out from Pan.


Mango Chutney:


  • Raw Mango 1
  • Coconut 1 cup
  • Curry Leaves 8-10
  • Green Chillies 3-4
  • Red Chillies 2-3
  • Mustard 1tsp
  • Oil 2tsp
  • Salt


  • Make Raw mango into small pieces and Grind it to fine paste with Coconut and Green Chillies.
  • Take a small pan heat oil .
  • Put mustard to it. Once it starts spluttering add red chillies and Curry leaves fry for 30seconds and add this to Chutney.
  • Put Salt to taste.


Aloo Bhaaji.



  • Potato  3-4
  • Onions 2
  • Mustard 1tsp
  • Toor Daal 2tsp
  • Curry Leaves 8-10
  • Green Chillies 3-4
  • Red Chillies 2-3
  • Oil 4-5 tsp
  • Turmeric 1sp
  • Salt



  • Pressure cook Potato for 5-6 Minutes and smash it.
    Take a thick pan heat the oil.
  • Add mustard and toor daal.
  • Once it starts cracking add curry leaves and red chillies fry it for 30 seconds.
  • Now add sliced onions fry it till it becomes transparent.
  • Add turmeric and salt and mix it well.
  • Now add smashed potato and mix it well. You can add water as well if you need gravy.
